I'm back in school a year now and I'm holding down an A- average.

I am a 33 (34) year old woman living with (mostly in remission now) Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. It's been an adventure. I've spent the last 10 or so years of my life getting diagnosed and treated, applying for SSI (looks like I won my appeal!), and the last 4 or so years trying to get back into a social existence. I have very few friends, only one real confidant, and a lot of regrets. But I'm a shitload wiser than I was when I started and a lot more capable of facing the world on my own terms.

My education got derailed at the college level, so after 10 years I'm finally going back to get working on my Associate degree. I'm not sure where I'm going after that. I might go on to get a Bachelors, graduate work and eventual work in the talk-therapy field. I might stop at the Associate or the Bachelors and go get a shitty job, or explore "alternative" options - "standup comic" is one thing that floats in and out of my mind (probably a lot more reasonable expectation than "rock star".) If I really LIKE college - unlikely - I might stay in the academic/research world and do serious research type things in psychology. There's a lot of other possibilities I'm open to that I cant even think of right now. The field is wayyyy open.
